The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) on September 27, 2023, notified the Central Motor Vehicles (Sixth Amendment) Rules, 2023 further to amend the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989.
The following has been stated: -
•In the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, after rule 126D, the following rule shall be inserted, namely: - “126E. Bharat new car assessment program. - (1) The car assessment program under this rule shall be applicable to the type of approved vehicles of category M1, manufactured or imported in the country on or after October 01, 2023.
