MoFAH&D issued a notification regarding Aadhaar as an identification document for the delivery of services in the National Livestock Mission Scheme

Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying (MoFAH&D) on October 05, 2023, issued a notification regarding Aadhaar as an identification document for delivery of services in the National Livestock Mission Scheme.

The following has been stated: -

•Every eligible beneficiary desirous of availing the benefits under the Scheme is hereby required to furnish proof of possession of an Aadhaar number or undergo Aadhaar authentication.

•Every eligible beneficiary desirous of availing the benefits under the Scheme, who does not possess the Aadhaar number or, has not yet enrolled for an Aadhaar, shall have to apply for Aadhaar enrolment provided he or she is entitled to obtain an Aadhaar as per the provisions of section 3 of the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016 and such persons may visit any Aadhaar enrolment center [list available at Unique Identification Authority of India website www.uidai.gov.in] for Aadhaar enrolment.

•As per Regulation 12 of Aadhaar (Enrolment and Update) Regulations, 2016, the concerned Department, is responsible for the implementation of the Scheme in the State Government or Union territory Administration, or the Ministry, is required to offer Aadhaar enrolment facilities for the beneficiaries who are not yet enrolled for Aadhaar and in case there is no Aadhaar enrolment centre located in the respective Block or Taluka or Tehsil, the said concerned Department shall provide enrolment facilities at convenient locations in coordination with the existing registrars of expand or by becoming expand registrars itself

•In order to provide convenient and hassle-free benefits to the beneficiaries under the Scheme, the Department, which is responsible for the implementation of the Scheme in the State Government or Union territory Administration through the implementing Agency, shall make all the required arrangements to ensure wide publicity through media is given to the beneficiaries to make them aware of the requirement of Aadhaar under the Scheme.

•The necessary arrangement of Quick Response code reader shall be provided at convenient locations by the concerned Department responsible for the implementation of the Scheme in the State Government or Union territory Administration through the Implementing Agency.

•This notification shall come into effect from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette in all the States and Union territories, except the State of Assam, Meghalaya, and the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
