Commercial ComplianceThe Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) on October 05, 2023, notified the Central Motor Vehicles (Seventh Amendment) Rules, 2023 further to amend the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989.

The following has been stated: -

•In the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, - 

(a)In FORM 20, after serial number 24 and entries relating thereto, the following serial numbers and entries shall be inserted, namely: - 

24A which talks about the Standing capacity and entry No. 24B which talks about the Sleeper Capacity.

•In FORM 22B, for serial number 6.19 and entries relating thereto, the following serial number and entries shall be substituted, namely: -

6.19 which talks about the Designed Seating Capacity (including Driver)/ Standing Capacity/ Sleeper Capacity.

They shall come into force on October 05, 2023.
