The Tea Board of India on October 05, 2023, issued a notification regarding the validity of NOC for setting up new manufacturing units/ capacity enhancement of existing manufacturing units.
The following provisions have been stated:
• NOCS shall henceforth be issued with the validity of 2 Years from the date of issuance of such NOCs.
• Grant of further extensions shall be allowed for a maximum of 4(four) tenures of 6(Six) months at a time, based on the written application from the applicant in this regard based on physical inspection report on actual status/progress of work related to the setting up of new manufacturing units/ capacity enhancement of existing manufacturing units and duly justified by the applicant and acceptable to Tea Board.
• In case, the manufacturing unit fails to complete the work by the extended period, further extension shall be granted to the applicant only on a case-to-case basis based upon the merit of the case.
This notification will come into force from October 05, 2023.
