The Government of Madhya Pradesh on October 05, 2023, issued the amendments in the schedules of the Madhya Pradesh Motoryan Karadhan Adhiniyam, 1991.
The following amendments are as stated:
• In the First Schedule:
(1) In item IV, Public Service Vehicle in sub-item (6),
(i) After clause (b), the following clause has been inserted, namely:
"(bb)Vehicles having seating capacity of 13+1 or more and permitted to ply as contract carriages under a permit issued under the All India Tourist Vehicles (Permit) Rules, 2023, Rs. 200 per seat per month.
(ii) In clause (e), in sub-clause (), in column (2), for the words "spare tax", the words and figures "tax payable under sub-item (1) or sub-item (2) or sub-item (3) or sub-item (4) or sub-item (6)(A) or sub-item (7) of the item (IV)" has been substituted.
• In the Second Schedule:
(1) In item 4BA, the Explanation has been omitted.
(2) Item 4C and 7A has been omitted.
(3) For item 8, the following item has been substituted, namely:
“8. Goods vehicle- a Goods vehicle with fully built body/ Chassis of goods vehicle with gross vehicle weight up to 7500 kilogram - 8% of the standard price of the vehicle;
Goods vehicles with fully built body / Chassis of goods vehicle with gross vehicle weight exceeding 7500 kilogram -5% of the standard price of the vehicle."
• For the Third Schedule, the following schedule specified in the table has been substituted.
