The University Grants Commission (UGC) on October 10, 2023, notified regarding the conferment of a status/privilege/recognition to HBIs.
The proposals of Universities/Higher Education Institutions for conferment of a status/privilege/recognition e.g., graded autonomy, autonomous college, fitness for grants, deemed to be universities, recognition under 2(f), etc. are considered by the Commission in terms of the Regulations covering the subject.
The Commission in its 572nd meeting has decided to take into account the relevant information available with the UGC made available to the UGC by other regulatory ог bodies/organizations/Governments, etc. while considering the proposal of a University/HEI for conferment of a status/privilege/recognition for a better implementation of the standards
An indicative list of such information is enclosed in Annexure and the same is attached to the document below.
