Commercial ComplianceThe Revenue and Forests Department, Maharashtra, on October 11, 2023, amended an older notification No. Mudrank-2019/1059/C.R.No.270/M-1 (Dhoran), dated September 09, 2019, related to stamp duty.

The following has been stated: -

•In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (a) of section 9 of the Maharashtra Stamp Act, 1958 the Government of Maharashtra hereby amends the Order, as follows, namely: —

In the said Order, —

(a) in the first paragraph, for the words, “has decided to remit eighty per cent. of the total stamp duty as otherwise chargeable”, the words, figures, and letters, “have decided to reduce and fix the stamp duty to the extent of Rs. 1000 (Rupees One Thousand only) as otherwise chargeable” shall be substituted.

(b) in the second paragraph, for the words, “remits eighty percent of the total stamp duty as otherwise chargeable”, the words, figures, and letters, “reduce and fix the stamp duty to the extent of Rs. 1000 (Rupees One Thousand only) as otherwise chargeable” shall be substituted.
