The Government of Karnataka on October 16, 2023, issued a notification regarding exemption on payment of tax to the vehicles registered in a State other than Karnataka on the occasion of Dussehra.
The following has been stated: -
•In exercise of the power conferred under Section 16(1) of the Karnataka Motor Vehicle Tax Act, 1957 the Government has decided, in the interest of the public, to exempt from payment of tax the vehicles registered in a State other than Karnataka and tax paid in that State, vehicles of other States being motor vehicles. In accordance with obtaining a special pass from the interstate to Mysore city for the Dussehra festival to be held from October 16, 2023, to October 24, 2023 (2 days inclusive) and Exemption from payment of tax is applicable only to the vehicles of villagers arriving to view the Krishnaraja Sagar Reservoir under Srirangapatna Taluk of Mandya District.
