The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) on October 18, 2023, issued the Draft Environment (Protection) Amendment Rules, 2023 to further amend the Environment (Protection) Rules, 1986.
The following has been amended namely: -
• In Schedule-l, serial number 1 entries relating to ‘Caustic Soda have been substituted. The following has been stated:
A. Effluent Standards
B. Standard for water consumption & wastewater generation
C. Standards for fugitive emission
D. Standards for process emission
Objections or suggestions may be sent to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, New Delhi, or send to [email protected] and [email protected] before the expiry of sixty days from October 18, 2023.
They shall come into force on the expiry of a period of one year from October 18, 2023.
