The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) on October 20, 2023, issued a notification regarding Aadhaar authentication on a voluntary basis in the interest of good governance.
The following has been stated: -
•The Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India, for the purpose of usage of digital platforms to ensure good governance, notified the following, namely:
1. Digi Yatra Foundation, a not-for-profit company, to perform Aadhaar authentication, on a voluntary basis, for verification and e-KYC, of passengers on the Digi Yatra App or Program. 2. Digi Yatra Foundation shall make all the required arrangements for wide publicity through media to make citizens aware of the requirements of Aadhaar for availing of contactless services through implementing agencies.
