The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) on October 19, 2023, amended the Electronic Products Notification F.No. W-43/4/2019-IPHW-MeitY dated September 07, 2020 w.r.t. Clause No. 4.12 (Servers) related to Public Procurement (Preference to Make in India) Order 2017-Notifying Electronic Products in furtherance of the Order.
The following has been stated: -
•In the case of Servers, Clause 4.12 (B): Mechanism for calculation of local content is amended as under and will be applicable with immediate effect: Revised Mechanism for calculation of local content: The domestic Bill of Material (BOM) of Server would be the sum of the cost of main inputs as specified in Column 1 of the following table, provided the inputs individually satisfy the value addition requirement specified in Column 2 of the table. However, the weightage of the total value of 'Add on Controller' shall not exceed 3% of the total BOM of the Server.
•All other terms and conditions of MeitY Gazette Notification F.No. W-43/4/2019-IPHW-MeitY dated September 07, 2020, remains unchanged.
