The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on October 20, 2023, notified the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) (Sixth Amendment) Regulations, 2023 further amend the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
The following has been stated: -
•In the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, in regulation 61A, - (1) in sub-regulation (3), -
(a) in the existing proviso thereto, the symbol “.”, after the words “in terms of section 11 of the Act”, shall be substituted with the symbol “:”
(b) after the existing proviso, the following proviso shall be inserted, namely, –
“Provided further that the amount transferred to the Investor Protection and Education fund shall not bear any interest.”
•After sub-regulation (3), the following sub-regulation shall be inserted, namely, – “(4) The unclaimed amount of a person that has been transferred to the Investor Protection and Education Fund in terms of this regulation, may be claimed in such manner as may be specified by the Board.”
They shall come into force on October 23, 2023.
