The Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi on October 20, 2023, issued a notification regarding the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016 for availing benefits of the government schemes.
The following has been stated: -
•In pursuance of the provisions of section 7 of the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits, and Services) Act, 2016, the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi hereby notifies the following, namely, -
•An individual desirous of availing the benefits under Schemes shall be required to furnish proof of possession of an Aadhaar number or undergo Aadhaar authentication.
•Any individual desirous of availing the benefits under Schemes, who does not possess the Aadhaar number or has not yet enrolled for an Aadhaar, shall have to apply for Aadhaar enrolment provided he or she is entitled to obtain Aadhaar as per the provisions of section 3 of the said Act and such individuals may visit any Aadhaar enrolment center.
•The benefit shall be transferred by the DBOCWW Board through the cess fund created for the purpose of the beneficiary's account maintained by the implementing agency.
•This notification shall come into force from October 25, 2023.
•In addition to the above, in order to ensure that no bonafide beneficiary under the scheme is deprived of his/her due benefits, the Department through its implementing Agency shall follow the exception handling mechanism as outlined in the Office Memorandum of DBT Mission, Cabinet Secretariat, Government of India dated December 19, 2017.
