The Competition Commission of India (CCI) on October 16, 2023, issued the Draft Competition Commission of India (Lesser Penalty) Regulations, 2023 to further repeal and replace the Competition Commission of India (Lesser Penalty) Regulations, 2009.
The following provisions have been stated:
• Form and contents of the application for lesser penalty and lesser penalty plus;
• Procedure for grant of lesser penalty and lesser penalty plus; and
• Withdrawal of application for lesser penalty and lesser penalty plus.
It has invited stakeholders to submit written comments on the Draft CCI (Lesser Penalty) Regulations 2023 within 21 days from October 16, 2023 to November 06, 2023. The comments must be only sent by duly filling out the form hosted on the CCI’s website at: https://cci.gov.in/stakeholders-topics-consultations
