Industry Specific Compliance The Ministry of Power (MoP) on October 23, 2023, issued the Extension of Directions under the Electricity Act, 2003, to generating companies.

The following has been stated namely: -

• The directive to import coal-based generators has been extended due to the surge in electricity demand, inadequate supply of domestic coal, and the reduced availability of hydro generation.

• This has been extended to June 30, 2024.
