The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on October 30, 2023, issued a notification regarding the Monitoring of activities of temporary food businesses, esp. during festivities/seasonal events-reg.
The following has been stated:
It has been stated that every individual/organization carrying out any food business activity whether for profit or otherwise, even though temporary in nature, is a "Food Business Operator" and is required to obtain registration/license under the FSS Act and Regulations and must follow all the food hygiene and safety standards as stipulated under the FSSRs.
In order to simplify the facility for hassle-free registrations of FBOs, FSSAI has a dedicated mobile application for the Food Business Operators i.e. 'Food Safety Connect', and to facilitate the Food Business Operators a user manual is also available at https://foscos.fssai.gov.in/assets/docs/usermanualforregiistrationfillingthroughconsumerapp.pdf. The petty FBOs can avail the said facility to obtain FSSAI Registrations conveniently.
