The Government of Madhya Pradesh on October 26, 2023, issued a notification regarding paid leave for labour on account of election.
Election Commission for the general elections of all the assembly constituencies of Madhya Pradesh. According voting will be held in the entire state on November 17, 2023, (Friday).
According to these guidelines, as per the provisions of Section 135-C of the Public Representation Act, 1951, every person employed in all the businesses, trades, industrial undertakings, or any other establishment falling in the areas of all the Legislative Assemblies of the state, whether he is a daily wage laborer or a casual laborer, category, who is entitled to vote in the upcoming Assembly General Election-2023, it is necessary to be granted paid leave on the day of polling. It is also mentioned that if the worker is employed in any industry or establishment that is outside the assembly constituency where the general elections are being held, he will still be eligible for paid leave for voting.
