The Government of Himachal Pradesh on October 21, 2023, issued the Himachal Pradesh Forest Produce Transit (Land Routes) Amendment Rules, 2023, to further amend the Himachal Pradesh Forest Produce Transit (Land Routes) Rules, 2013
These rules shall come into force on October 21, 2023
The following has been amended namely: -
• In rule 2 which states “Definitions” after clause (f) of sub-rule (1), the following shall be inserted namely: -
“(g) “Pass” means any transit permit/pass issued under these rules and shall also include transit pass generated through the National Transit Pass System (NTPS).”
• In rule 6 which states “Validity period of Registration Certificate” for the words, figures, and signs “Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000”, the words, figures, and signs “Rs. 1000/- and Rs. 2000/-” respectively, shall be substituted.
• In Rule 7 which states “Issue of pass for Export or transport of Forest Produce” the following shall be substituted as follows: -
“7. Issue of pass for export or transport of forest Produce.- (1) No pass
shall be issued for any unmarked forest produce other than fuelwood, khairwood, bamboo, charcoal, medicinal plants, grass, and other plant parts including bark, leaves, stem, roots, flowers, fruits, cones, and seeds as bear the marks not registered.
(2) The Electronic Transit Pass/No Objection Certificate issued through the online National Transit Pass System shall also be acceptable/valid in the whole of the state of Himachal Pradesh and no fresh pass shall be required to be issued for forest produce being transported under National Transit Pass System.
