The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) on October 31, 2023, issued the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (Particulars and Manner of their Display on Labels of Washing Machine), Regulations, 2023.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The particulars to be displayed on the label have been stated such as the star level, logo of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, name of appliance, etc.
• The Time limit for the display of labels has been stated namely: -
a. Transition from Voluntary to Mandatory regime
b. Revision of Mandatory Energy performance standards
• The Terms and conditions for the display of particulars on the label have been stated in the notification.
• Verification by Bureau - The Bureau may carry out verification to ensure that the washing machine conforms to the star level and other particulars displayed on its label and it complies with the other terms and conditions of permission.
