The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on November 17, 2023, issued Directions regarding the re-operationalization of FSS (Health Supplements, Nutraceuticals, Food for Special Dietary Use, Food for Special Medical Purposes, and Prebiotic and Probiotic Food) Regulations, 2022.
The following has been stated:
• It has stated that the provisions of these draft regulations as specified in the direction dated March 29, 2022, together with the provisions specified in the direction dated May 10, 2022, were re-operationalized with effect from October 01, 2022, vide direction dated October 18, 2022, and later re-operationalised-with-effect-from April 01, 2023, vide direction dated April 11, 2023. As the finalization of these draft regulations is likely to take some more time before being notified, it has been decided to re-operationalize the provisions specified in the direction dated April 11, 2023, for a period of 3 months from October 01, 2023.
