The Board of Major Port Authority for Mormugao Port on November 09, 2023, issued the Mormugao Port Authority (Stevedoring and Shore Handling) Regulations, 2023.
The following has been stated namely: -
• This is applicable to the stevedoring and shore handling activities undertaken by the agent but shall not apply to the stevedoring and shore handling activities by the Port, Public Private Partnership projects, Build-Operate-Transfer operations or agreements or such other agreements as have been entered into by the Board.
• Any eligible person that fulfills the eligibility criteria can apply for the licence in writing to the Chairperson in Form-A, along with the documents specified therein and with fee as the Board may fix
• The licence will be valid for a period of three years from the date of issuance of the licence.
• The Duties and responsibilities of stevedores have been stated in the regulations
• The Mormugao Port Trust (Licensing of Stevedores) Regulations, 2010, and the procedures, practices, and customs corresponding to these regulations and in force immediately before the commencement of these regulations are hereby repealed.
This shall come into force on November 09, 2023
