class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on November 17, 2023, issued the Guidelines on sampling of Fortified Rice (FR), Fortified Rice Kernels (FRK), and Vitamin Mineral Premix for FRK in supersession of the Order No.QA-11023/9/2022-RARD-FSSAI, Dated November 16, 2023.
The following has been stated:
• It states that the Scientific Panel on Methods of Sampling and Analysis has approved the Guidelines on sampling of Fortified Rice (FR), Fortified Rice Kernels (FRK), and Vitamin Mineral Premix for FRK (Annexure-I).
• It states that the Guidelines may be implemented either by Governmental food control authorities or by professionals themselves (self-inspection performed by producers and/or traders).
• It states that these guidelines are a supplementary guidance document in addition to the prevailing Food Safety and Standards Act, Rules and Regulations 2011 thereof.
