Industry Specific ComplianceThe Government of Andhra Pradesh on November 22, 2023, issued a notification regarding the amendment to the Toddy Policy for the period 2022-2027

The following has been amended namely: -

• It states that in the said Toddy Policy the following guideline shall be substituted for the guideline V(c): -

“(c) It is decided to pay to double the amount of earlier compensation i.e. Rs.10.00 Lakhs to the next kin of the deceased tapper, who died accidentally while engaged in tapping, and also to the permanently disabled (who became permanently disabled while tapping) so that compensation does justice to disability arisen due to Toddy tapping. Out of the Rs. 10 Lakhs compensation amount, the victim’s family shall be paid Rs.5 Lakhs by the Labour Department as per G.O.Ms.No.7, Labour factories Boilers & IMS (LAB-I) Dept. dated June 27, 2021, and the balance Rs.5 Lakhs shall be paid in the form of ex-gratia by the State Government. The scheme may be named ‘YSR Geetakarmika Bharosa’. 

The disability certificate shall be given by the Prohibition & Excise Department after due diligence as per existing rules.”
