The Ministry of Law and Justice, (MoL&J), on November 24, 2023, notified the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Tenancy Regulation, 2023.
It shall come into force on such date as the Administrator may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint and different dates may be appointed for different provisions of this Regulation and any reference in any such provision to the commencement of this Regulation shall be construed as a reference to the coming into force of that provision.
The following has been stated-
•Regulation 4 specifies the Tenancy agreement.
•Regulation 5 specifies the Rights and obligations of the successor in case of death.
•Regulation 10 specifies Rent Authority determines revised rent in case of a dispute
It extends to the whole of the Union territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
