The Government of Sikkim on November 24, 2023, issued a notification regarding the declaration of Public Holidays for Banks in the State during the Calendar year, 2024.
The following has been stated: -
•In exercise of the powers conferred by the Explanation to section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, the State Government is pleased to declare the holidays specified in the Schedule to be the Public Holidays for Banks in the State of Sikkim during the Calendar year, 2024. A list of holidays is given in the document attached below.
•Apart from the above, Banks will remain closed for public transactions on account of
Yearly Closing of Bank Account on April 01, 2023 (Monday) and Half Yearly Closing of Bank Accounts on October 01, 2024 (Tuesday).
•The above holidays shall not apply to the Subordinate Courts in the State of Sikkim.
