The Government of Goa on November 30, 2023, notified the Business of the Government of Goa (Allocation) (Forty-seventh Amendment) Rules, 2023 to further amend the Goa (Allocation) Rules, 1987.
The following has been stated-
•In the Schedule appended to
(i)at serial number 5, under the heading “Department of Education and Art & Culture”, clause (e) shall be omitted; (ii) after serial number 53, the following shall be inserted, namely:—
“54. Directorate of Museums:
(a) Collection, documentation, preservation, and display of objects of archaeological, artistic, cultural, and scientific significance in the State of Goa.
(b) Preparation of inventories of all antiquities, and objects of archaeological artistic, cultural, and scientific significance in the State of Goa from the possession of State Museums, private Museums, collections of individuals, and other organizations.
(c) Establishing Museums in different parts of the State of Goa.
(d) Promoting Museum Education and Research among the students and scholars.
(e) Providing licenses for Government, semi-government, and private Museums in Goa and framing legislations for controlling them.”.
