The Government of Goa on November 15, 2023, issued a notification regarding the revision in the minimum wages in various Scheduled Employment
The following has been stated namely: -
• It has revised the rates of Variable Dearness Allowance on the basis of the average Consumer Price Index number for the preceding period of six months i.e. January 2023 to June 2023 reaching 385.83 (rounded to 386 points) from 269 (Base 2001-100) and thereby resulting in an increase of 117 points for Industrial Workers.
• It states that the rate of Variable Dearness Allowance so calculated is Rs. 111/- per day for various categories of employees employed in Scheduled Employments and becomes effective from October 10, 2023
• The following Scheduled Employments have been stated namely: -
(i) Employment in any shop and commercial establishment other than a residential hotel, restaurant or eating house
(ii) Employment in any Commercial or Industrial Establishment engaged in commercial, manufacturing, and service activities
(iii) Employment in Cinema Exhibition Industry
(iv) Employment in 'Units engaged in the manufacture, assembling of Electronic Goods and Components and distribution and sale of Electronic products.
