Industry Specific ComplianceThe Indian Nursing Council on December 06, 2023, published the Indian Nursing Council (Post Basic Diploma in Paediatric Specialty Nursing - Residency Program) Regulations, 2023

This shall come into force on December 06, 2023

The following has been stated namely: -

• It states that the Post Basic Diploma in Paediatric Specialty Nursing is a one-year residency program and its curriculum is conceptualized encompassing foundational short courses and major specialty courses for specialty nursing practice.

• It states that this program is designed to prepare nurses with specialized skills, knowledge, and attitude in providing comprehensive care to children with acute, chronic, and other congenital disorders (medical and surgical) including Paediatric emergencies. It further aims to prepare technically qualified and competent specialist nurses who will function efficiently and optimally at Paediatric care units of tertiary/quaternary hospitals by maintaining high quality and standards of care.

• It states that in order to pass, a candidate should obtain at least 60% marks in aggregate of internal assessment and external examination both together, in each of the theory and practical papers. Less than 60% is considered a failure.

• The Students will be given the opportunity of a maximum of 3 attempts for passing.

• If the student fails in either theory or practical, he/she needs to appear for the exam failed either theory or practical only.
