The Government of Bihar on December 05, 2023, issued the Bihar Electric Vehicle Policy, 2023.
The following has been stated:
• Objectives:
a. To make Bihar a model state for developing an Electric Vehicle transport ecosystem.
b. To develop an accessible and robust network of EV charging infrastructure in the state.
c. To encourage start-ups and investment in the field of electric mobility and associated support sectors like data analytics, IT, R&D, etc.
d. To improve the quality of the environment by reducing air pollution.
• Mission:
To drive a longer sustainable transport ecosystem with a focus on ensuring maximum availability of electric vehicles in Bihar by 2028.
• Goal:
To ensure that 15% of the new vehicles purchased and registered in Bihar are electric vehicles by 2028.
