The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers (MoC&F) on December 07, 2023, issued the Textiles — High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE)/ Polypropylene (PP) Woven Sacks for Packaging of 50 kg Cement (Quality Control) Order, 2023.
The following has been stated:
• Application
It shall apply to goods or articles specified in the Schedule annexed in this Order and shall not apply to goods or articles meant for export.
• Conformity to the standard and compulsory use of Standard Mark
Goods or articles specified in the Schedule shall conform to the corresponding Indian Standard specified in the said Schedule and shall bear the Standard Mark under a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards under Scheme-I of Schedule-II, which states “Conformity assessment scheme for Grant of license to use or apply Standard Mark on goods and articles as per Indian Standard” to the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
• Certifying and enforcing authority
The Bureau of Indian Standards shall be the certifying and enforcing authority in respect of the goods or articles specified in the Schedule.
This notification will come into force after the expiry of 180 days from December 07, 2023.
