The Bharat Billpay on October 11, 2023, issued a notification regarding the Advisory on Implementation of Unified Presentment Management System (UPMS) feature.
The following has been stated namely: -
• To simplify the bill payments process, the Unified Presentment Management System (UPMS) has been introduced.
• Bharat BillPay System (BBPS) through UPMS will enable the customers to setup standing instructions on their recurring bill payments and such bills will be automatically fetched (or pushed) from the biller system and presented to the customers for autopay or view-and-pay.
• These changes need to be implemented by Biller Operating Units (BOUs) and Customer Operating Units (COUs) not later than December 15, 2023.
• All entities are to confirm UPMS transaction status before sending reminders for bill payment to customers post December 15, 2023.
• All ecosystem partners are advised to follow the prescribed guidelines, ensuring uniform mandate management experience across all Customer Operating Units and Agent Institution Platforms.
