The Government of Tamil Nadu on November 30, 2023, issued a notification regarding the inclusion of employment in Platform Based Gig Works Under the Tamil Nadu Manual Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Work) Act, 1982
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states that the Schedule which specifies the “Employment in connection with loading, unloading, stacking, packing, carrying, weighing, measuring or such other manual work including work preparatory or incidental to such operations” after item 70, the following item shall be added, namely:-
“71. Employment in platform-based gig works.”
