The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) on December 12, 2023, notified the Safes, Safe Deposit Locker Cabinets, and key locks (Quality Control) Order, 2023.
The following has been stated: -
•Rule 2 talks about Conformity to Standards and Compulsory use of Standard Mark.
•Rule 3 talks about the Certification and Enforcement Authority which is the Bureau of Indian Standards.
•Rule 4 talks about the Penalty for Contravention.
It shall come into force on the expiry of six months from December 12, 2023.
