Industry Specific ComplianceThe Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) on December 05, 2023, issued amendments to the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea, 1974, as modified by the protocol of 1988 relating thereto and its applicability.

The following amendments have been stated:

• It States that the International Maritime Organization (IMO) has issued various amendments to the Convention from time to time, which is annexed to this Order as "Annexure- 1".

• It further states that the amendments to the Convention are already in effect and applicable to Indian vessels.

• The stakeholders are required to be guided by this Order towards compliance with the provisions to give full effect to the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea and the mandatory Codes.
