The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (MoA&FW) on December 14, 2023, issued the Insecticides (Ninth Amendment) Rules, 2023, to further amend the Insecticides Rules, 1971.
The following amendments have been stated:
• In rule 19, which states “Manner of labelling”, In sub-rule (1):
In Clause (iv), the following proviso has been inserted:
“Provided that in the case of ultra-small packs, the composition of the formulation or insecticide may be displayed in short as “percentage of active ingredient “and the complete composition shall be printed on the leaflet. The name and address of the manufacturer may be printed in short on the label and the complete address shall be printed on the leaflet.
This notification will come into force from December 14, 2023.
