The Government of Goa on December 14, 2023, notified the Mukhyamantri Pashuseva Yojana with 24x7 Animal Ambulance.
The following has been stated: -
•To bridge the gap and to reach out to the livestock owners of the State in case of any emergency requiring urgent attention, with veterinary aid, at their doorstep, the Government felt a need to have a centralized call center with a toll-free help-line that will help all the livestock owners and stray animals spread all over Goa to get the needed veterinary aid at their doorstep and also necessary medical guidance and directions over the phone through the Help-Line.
•The Objectives of the scheme are: -
To cater to livestock and stray animals, emergency treatment on a 24x7 basis.
To provide treatment facilities beyond the normal working hours of Hospitals and dispensaries.
To facilitate shifting of the injured/ailing animal to the appropriate institution/organization for further follow-up and/or care.
To provide treatment and rescue of stray animals and if required to shift to the nearest Animal Welfare Organisation, infirmary, pinjrapole, etc.
•The scheme is worked out on the basis of 100% Grants-in-aid which will be provided for the operations of this scheme and will be paid in advance in 4 equal instalments.
It shall come into force from December 14, 2023.
The operations will be outsourced to a private agency to manage, for which the grants-in-aid will be provided by the Government of Goa.
