The Government of Punjab on December 05, 2023, published the Punjab Fruit Nurseries (First Amendment) Rules 2023 to further amend the Punjab Fruit Nurseries Rules 1961
The following has been amended namely: -
• In Rule 1 which states “Short title, extent, and commencement” the word Fruit shall be substituted with “Horticulture”
• In Rule 2 which states “definitions” the following changes shall be made namely: -
(i) In clause (a) the word Fruit shall be substituted with “Horticulture”
(ii) After clause (a) the following clauses shall be inserted namely: -
“(ai) Appellate Authority” means the Director, Horticulture, Punjab
(aii) Competent Authority” means the Joint Director, Horticulture, Punjab
(aiii) Designated Authority” means Quarantine Officer Horticulture, Punjab
(iii)In clause (d) the word “and” appearing at the end shall be omitted.
