The Government of Assam on December 12, 2023, issued the Draft Assam Food Security (Amendment) Rules, 2023, to further amend the Assam Food Security Rules, 2022.
The following amendment has been stated:
• In rule 4, which states “Criteria for selection of beneficiaries, household under Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) and Priority category”:
(i) In sub-rule (1), after clause (q), the following new clause (r) shall be inserted, namely:
"(r) State Government Muster Roll employees and Daily Wage Earners, Retired Grade-IV employees of Central and State Government and Contractual employees having annual family income of less than Rs. 4,00,000.00 (four lakhs)"
(ii) In sub-rule (2), clause (b) shall be omitted.
Objections or suggestions, if any, will be considered by the Government of Assam after the expiry of 10 days from December 12, 2023, and may be sent to the Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Assam, Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs Department, Janata Bhawan, Dispur, Guwahati-781006.
This notification will come into force from December 12, 2023.
