The Ministry of Mines (MoM) on December 22, 2023, Implementation of Guidelines on "Safety and Health Management System Audit" in Coal and Lignite Mines.
All coal companies/mine owners are hereby directed to strictly adhere to the guidelines. Safety auditing on an annual basis is mandatory and all coal companies/mine owners will have to submit audit reports to the CCO by the end of March every year. Coal companies/mine owners can hire external auditors. UGC-approved agencies will impart training to auditors. The time frame for completion of the audit will be mentioned while assigning the work.
