The Government of Jharkhand on December 19, 2023, issued the Jharkhand State Forensic Science Laboratory Service (Amendment) Rules, 2023, to further amend the Jharkhand State Forensic Science Laboratory Service Rules, 2019.
The following provisions are added in addition to the educational qualification related to appointment to the basic post of Scientific Assistant:
• In addition to the above mandatory qualifications, it will be mandatory for the candidates to have passed Matriculation/10th class and Intermediate/10+2 class from a recognized educational institution located in the state of Jharkhand and it will be mandatory for the candidates to know the local customs, language, and environment.
Provided that in the case of candidates covered by the reservation policy of Jharkhand State, the provision regarding passing of Matriculation/10th class and Intermediate/10+2 class from a recognized educational institution located in the State of Jharkhand will be relaxed." is deleted.
• The phrase 'The age limit should be maximum 55 years' mentioned in Rule 6 (v) (c) of Jharkhand State Forensic Science Laboratory Service Rules, 2019 (as amended) should be changed to 'Minimum age limit should be 50 years and maximum age limit should be 55 years. The phrase "should" is replaced and a new sub-rule - 6 (v) (d) is added as 'The Director of the State Forensic Science Laboratory, Jharkhand, Ranchi will be selected by interview.
This notification will come into force from December 19, 2023.
