The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on December 27, 2023, issued a circular regarding the revised format for Unique Client Code
The following has been stated namely: -
• This has a reference to Exchange notice no. 20231018-39 dated October 18, 2023, informing the Trading Members on the revised UCC structure applicable for all segments and further reference to Exchange notice no. 20231211-51 dated December 11, 2023, informing Trading Members about the readiness of the Exchange UCC system for User Acceptance Testing.
• It has decided to allow Trading Members to update UCC details in either the old format or new format as follows namely: -
(i) Existing mechanism for updating the UCC database.
(ii) API for revised format as published vide Exchange Notice no. 20231018-39 dated October 18, 2023, shall also be available from December 29, 2023. The changes in the structure are highlighted in Annexure 1.
• It states that the old format would be discontinued w.e.f. January 22, 2024, and if appropriate changes are not carried out within this deadline, the onboarding process at the Trading Member end can get impacted and could have a potential business impact.
• it is requested to carry out the CC structural changes at their end at the earliest and in any case not later than January 19, 2024.
It further states that the Trading supported by the Blocked amount in the secondary market is going live from January 1, 2024, trading members are requested to update details of clients opting for the same through Revised UCC API or via CSV format attached in Annexure 2 through email at [email protected]
