The Madhya Pradesh Government on December 27, 2023, issued the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products (Prohibition of Advertisement and Regulation of Trade and Commerce, Production, Supply and Distribution) Madhya Pradesh Amendment Act, 2023 to further amend the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products (Prohibition of Advertisement and Regulation of Trade and Commerce, Production, Supply and Distribution) Act, 2003.
The following has been amended namely: -
• Section 4A which states “Prohibition of hookah bar” has been inserted
• Section 13A which states “Power to seize material or article of hookah bar” has been inserted
• Section 21A which states “Punishment for running hookah bar” has been inserted
• Section 27A which states “Offence under section 4A to be cognizable” has been inserted
