Labour ComplianceThe Government of Andhra Pradesh on January 06, 2024, issued a notification to prohibit strikes by Anganwadi Workers and Anganwadi Helpers at all Anganwadi Centres for 6 months with immediate effect.

The government believes that the ongoing indefinite strike initiated by the Anganwadi Workers and Anganwadi Helpers since December 12, 2023, is causing grave hardship and inconvenience to the marginalized, vulnerable, and weaker section of pregnant women, lactating mothers, and tender children aged between 0 and 6 years across the State due to the non-fulfilment of the supplemental nutrition services. The government has engaged in discussions, fulfilled the majority of the demands put forth by the Anganwadi Workers and Helpers, and issued an appeal to all Anganwadi Workers and Helpers.

In view of the above, the Government, in the interest of the public, deems it necessary and expedient to enforce a prohibition on strikes by Anganwadi Workers and Anganwadi Helpers throughout the State.
