AAI issued a circular regarding the implementation of the Safety Management System in the Airports Authority of India

Industry Specific ComplianceThe Airports Authority of India (AAI) on December 28, 2023, issued a circular regarding the implementation of a Safety Management System in the Airports Authority of India.

The following has been stated: -

•The DGCA CAR, Sec1, Series C, Part I, Issue III dated March 24, 2022, requires the implementation of a Safety Management System in the Airports Authority of India.

•Safety Policy, Objectives, Procedures, and Processes of the Airports Authority of India to be applicable across all AAI's Airports/Civil Enclaves and ANS Centers are defined through Corporate Safety Management (C-SMS) Manual, Aviation Safety Circulars and Aviation Safety Advisory Circulars.

•The revised C-SMS Manual, Issue No. 4, Revision 0, incorporates all relevant Aviation Safety Circulars and Aviation Safety Advisory Circulars issued to date.

•With the issuance of the C-SMS Manual, Issue No. 4, Revision 0, AAI's C-SMS Manual, Version 3-Issue 3 dated November 18, 2015 stands superseded. Also, with the issuance of this Manual, all relevant Aviation Safety Circulars and Aviation Safety Advisory Circulars that have been incorporated in this manual and all remaining Circulars that are no longer relevant, stand superseded.

•All AAI-managed Airports/Civil Enclaves and ANS centers shall ensure that the Station Level Safety Management System Manual is prepared/ updated in accordance with the C-SMS Manual-Issue 4, Revision 0.
