The Government of Punjab on December 01, 2023, issued a notification regarding the extension of the provisions of the Employees State Insurance Act 1948.
The following has been stated: -
•In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (5) of Section 1 of The Employees’ State Insurance Act 1948, the Government of Punjab, Department of Health & Family Welfare in consultation with the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation and with the approval of the Central Government vide letter No. S-38025/07/2020-SS-1 dated June 09, 2021, hereby gives notice of its intention to extend the provision of the Act to the classes of establishments specified in the schedule given in the document attached below, after one month from the date of publication in the official Gazette.
•Any objections or suggestions, which may be received from any person in respect of the notification within 30 days will be considered by the State Government.
