The Ministry of Power (MoP) on January 11, 2024, notified the Electricity (Amendment) Rules, 2024 further to amend the Electricity Rules, 2005.
The following has been stated: -
•In the Electricity Rules, 2005, the existing rule 21 shall be re-numbered as rule 24, and before the rule is so renumbered, the following rules shall be inserted, namely: -
(i)Rule 21 states about the Establishment, operation, and maintenance of dedicated transmission lines.
(ii)Rule 22 mentions about the Open Access Charges.
(iii)Rule 23 states the Gap between the approved Annual Revenue Requirement and estimated annual revenue from the approved tariff.
They shall come into force on January 11, 2024.
