The Government of Karnataka on January 10, 2024, notified the Karnataka Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) (Amendment) Rules, 2024 further to amend the Karnataka Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Rules, 1983.
The following has been stated: -
•Amendment of Rule 20 which is about the Application for Consent in sub-rule (1), -
(i)For Table I(a) and entries thereunder, the following shall be substituted, namely: - Table I(a) Consent fee for consent to establish or consent to expansion or consent to operate for Industries or Organizations other than activities specified in Table I(b) and Table I (c).
(ii)For Table I(b) and entries thereunder, the following shall be substituted, namely: -
Table I(b) Consent fee for consent to establish or consent to expansion or consent to operate for industries or organizations or health care establishments or waste management activities including STPs, CSPTs, and CETPs or any other projects wherein, Diesel Generator Sets (DG Sets) are the only source of air emission, shall be as specified in the document attached below.
They shall come into force from January 11, 2024.
