The Pollution Control Board, Assam (PCBA) on December 18, 2023, notified regarding the Implementation of guidelines on EPR for plastic packaging.
It is observed that most of the Producers, Importers & Brand owners (PIBOs) and Plastic Waste Processor (PWPs), registered through the centralized EPR portal have not fulfilled their EPR obligations including filing of annual report.
Therefore, the following directions are issued to all PIBOs and PWPs for immediate action:
• All PIBOs are directed to procure EPR certificates for fulfilling the EPR obligations immediately.
• All PIBOs and PWPs are directed to submit Annual Returns through the EPR portal immediately.
• All PWPs are directed to ensure that EPR certificates are generated in accordance with CPCB's guidelines such as uploading of GST invoices corresponding to sales etc.
