The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) on January 15, 2024, issued the Central Motor Vehicles (Second Amendment) Rules, 2024, to further amend the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989.
The following amendments have been stated:
• In rule 31, which states “Syllabus for imparting instructions in the driving of motor vehicles”, in sub-rule (1), under the heading “A. DRIVING THEORY-I”, against serial number 2, for the words "Rear-view mirror", the words "Rear-view mirror or device for indirect vision " shall be substituted.
• In rule 62, which states “Validity of certificate of fitness”, in sub-rule (1), in the first proviso, in Table, against serial number (6), in column 2, for the words "Rear View Mirror", the words "Rear view mirror or device for indirect vision " shall be substituted.
This notification will come into force from January 15, 2024.
