The Ministry of Mines on January 21, 2024, issued the Minerals (Evidence of Mineral Contents) Amendment Rules, 2024, to further amend the Minerals (Evidence of Mineral Contents) Rules, 2015.
The following amendments have been stated:
• In rule 2, which states “Application”, in clause (iii), after the words and brackets “(67 of 1957)”, the words “having grade equal to or more than the threshold value as specified and notified under the Atomic Minerals Concession Rules, 2016” shall be inserted.
• In rule 5, which states “Existence of mineral contents for grant of mining lease under clause (a) of sub-section 2 of section 5 and for auction of mining lease under sub-section (3) of section 10B and sub-section (2) of section 11 of the Act”:
(i) In the marginal heading, after the word and figures “section 11”, the words, figures and letter “or section 11D” shall be inserted.
(ii) In the opening portion, after the word and figures “section 11”, the words, figures and letter “or section 11D” shall be inserted.
This notification will come into force from January 21, 2024.
